Configuring the dashboard for initial use

As an administrator, you can configure the dashboard views and set up access for all your users.

When you open the dashboard for the first time, what you see depends on your whether you are installing for the first time, or have upgraded from an earlier version of WSRR.
  • If this is a new installation of WSRR, and you are using the default WSRR V8.5 governance enablement profile, then the dashboard has five preconfigured views. These views are based on the Business, Development, Operations, SOA Governance, and Service Catalog templates that are supplied with WSRR. You can customize these views, or create new ones, and set user permissions as required.
  • If you upgraded from WSRR V7.5 or WSRR V8.0, there are no views when you first start the dashboard. If you want to reuse your views from Business Space, you must export them from Business Space and then import them into the dashboard. See Importing dashboard views. You can further customize these views after they are imported into the dashboard. Alternatively, you can create new views, or create views from the templates that are provided with your WSRR V8.5 dashboard.
  • If you upgraded from WSRR V7.0, importing views from your Business Space is not supported. Your dashboard has five preconfigured views. These views are based on the Business, Development, Operations, SOA Governance, and Service Catalog templates that are supplied with WSRR. You can customize these views, or create new ones, and set user permissions as required.
  • If you upgraded from WSRR V6.3, your dashboard has five preconfigured views. These views are based on the Business, Development, Operations, SOA Governance, and Service Catalog templates that are supplied with WSRR. You can customize these views, or create new ones, and set user permissions as required.

When you create new views, or configure existing ones, you can specify which user roles can access which views, and what control those users have over their views. You can configure the dashboard so that users can edit the views, or so that users cannot alter the views. You can also control what views each user role has access to.
