Enabling remote testing

You must enable remote testing for business users in the Decision Center Business console, so that they can validate rules against scenarios.

The following figure shows how rule testing and simulation work in Decision Center:

To enable remote testing, you must perform the following tasks:

Validate the Project

If you are using the Excel format for your scenario files, you must ensure that all rule projects for testing are valid. A valid project means that you can create the correct columns when generating the Excel scenario file template. This is done in Rule Designer, as described in Validating the project.

Make the XOMs accessible to the Decision Runner

You must make the XOM of each rule project that is used for testing and simulation available to the Decision Runner.

You can do this from Rule Designer by deploying the XOM to Rule Execution Server, or by deploying directly from Decision Center (see XOM deployment from Decision Center).

Note: You only have to make Java™ XOMs accessible to the Decision Runner.

In addition, perform the following setup tasks to enable testing and simulation for your business users in Decision Center:

Publish the rule projects to Decision Center

To access rule projects in Decision Center, you must first publish them from Rule Designer. If you have modified the BOM when validating the project, remember to publish these changes to Decision Center so that the business user can generate the correct Excel scenario template files.

Setup Decision Center

You must provide access to an instance of the Decision Runner. This is done in Configure > Manage Servers from the Decision Center Enterprise console.
