Viewing logging and statistics information in the IBM Integration Bus Kibana dashboard in IBM Cloud

You can use the IBM® Integration Bus Kibana dashboard in IBM Cloud to display logging and statistics information that has been issued by configured IBM Integration Bus integration servers. The dashboard also displays information that has been issued by integrations in IBM Integration Bus on Cloud and IBM App Connect on IBM Cloud that have been configured with appropriate policies. Graphical and tabular views enable you to see important information quickly and easily.

About this task

IBM Integration Bus provides a sample Kibana dashboard, which you can load through the mqsichangebluemixreporting command, or you can choose to import it manually. This dashboard provides a set of charts that enable you to quickly identify the top five integration servers producing logging events, and the top five logging event types. It also provides charts showing total events, highlighting the logging information, warning, and error type, and the stop, start, and change activity of the integration servers. Additionally, a tabular view of the details of all events in the selected time period is provided.

If you have configured your integration servers to send statistics and accounting information and Activity log data to IBM Cloud Log Analysis, you can also view that information in the Kibana dashboard.

Procedure

Complete the following steps to view logging information for your integration servers, in the IBM Integration Bus Kibana dashboard:

  1. Log into IBM Cloud, select the region, organization, and space that IBM Integration Bus has been configured to send log events to, and select and launch your Log Analysis service.
  2. Open the IBM Integration Bus Kibana 5 dashboard by completing these steps:
    1. Click the Dashboard tab.
    2. Click the Open
    3. Click IBM Integration Bus Dashboard.
  3. You can now view the configured integration server BIP message events in the Kibana dashboard.
If your integration servers are configured to send statistics and accounting information and Activity log data to IBM Cloud Log Analysis, that data will also be visible in the dashboard.

By default, the Kibana dashboard displays events for the last 15 minutes, and the view does not refresh automatically. You can change these settings through the clock icon in the top-right corner of the Kibana Dashboard view.
