Configuring the IBM Cloud Log Analysis service

Configure the Log Analysis service in IBM® Cloud to enable it to receive logging data, Activity Log data, resource statistics, and message flow statistics and accounting data from IBM Integration Bus integration servers.

Before you begin

Create an account in IBM Cloud. In the IBM Cloud welcome page, click Create an account and follow the instructions. For more information, see Signing up for IBM Cloud.

About this task

Log Analysis is an IBM Cloud service that you can use to collect and store log data, and then visualize, analyze, and interact with your data through customizable dashboards. Ensure that your version and fix pack level of IBM Integration Bus is compatible with the level of the Log Analysis service before you enable IBM Integration Bus to connect to it.

Procedure

Complete the following steps to configure an instance of the Log Analysis service in IBM Cloud:

  1. Login to your IBM Cloud account by clicking Log In in the IBM Cloud welcome page.
  2. When you are prompted to create a space for your organization, enter your organization name and then click Create.
    For more information about organizations and spaces, see the IBM Cloud documentation.
  3. Create your instance of the Log Analysis service:
    1. In the menu bar at the top of the IBM Cloud user interface, click Catalog.
    2. Search the catalog for Log Analysis, and then click the Log Analysis tile.
      A selection of plans is displayed.
    3. To use the service that is free of charge, select the Lite plan. The service details page is displayed.
    4. Click Create.
      Your service is now available.
  4. To open the Log Analysis application, click the Manage menu item, and then click Launch.
