Changing file attachment size limits

By default, there is an attachment size limit of 10MB when users send mail from Microsoft Outlook using the IBM mail add-in. You can change this limit. For example, increase it to allow users to send attachments of up to 20 MB, the Microsoft Outlook default attachment size limit.

About this task

To allow for message expansion, specify a value that is greater than the limit that you want. For example, to allow attachments of up to 20 MB, specify a limit of at least 30 MB.
Note: Attachment files names that contain the characters # or % are not viewable in Microsoft Outlook.

Procedure

  1. In the Domino® server document, select Internet Protocols > HTTP. In the HTTP Protocol Limits section, enter a value (in kilobytes) in the Maximum size of request field, for example 30000.
  2. In the Domino server document or Internet Sites document, select Internet Protocols > Domino Web Engine. In the POST data section, enter a value (in kilobytes) in the Maximum POST data field for example 30000.
