Downloading, installing, and upgrading IBM BPM Application Pattern

Your cloud administrator can download IBM® Business Process Manager Application Pattern packages from IBM Passport Advantage for use in a private cloud environment. Then, your runtime administrator can load patterns to PureApplication® System by importing the IBM BPM pattern type and provide access to users.

Before you begin

Restriction: You must have the following permissions on IBM PureApplication System to install IBM BPM patterns:

Deploy patterns in the cloud
Create patterns
Create catalog content
Cloud administration permission
Appliance administration or read-only permission

Procedure

Complete the following steps:

Go to the Passport Advantage website and locate the IBM BPM Application Pattern package to download:

For use with ESX hypevisors on PureApplication System W1500: BPM_APP_PATTERN_V85_RHEL_X64.tgz
Download the package from Passport Advantage to an HTTP server. Note the location so that you can refer to the web address during the installation process.
Log in to IBM PureApplication System and click the Workload Console tab.
Click Cloud > Pattern Types.
Click the Add icon () to install the IBM BPM pattern type.
On the Remote tab of the Install a pattern type window, enter the web address where you downloaded the IBM BPM Application Pattern package.
Verify that IBM BPM Pattern Type 8.5 is listed on the left side of the Pattern Types window.
Select IBM BPM Pattern Type 8.5 and accept the licenses.
Enable the IBM BPM Pattern Type 8.5 pattern type.
Click Catalog > Virtual Application Templates.
Select IBM BPM Pattern Type 8.5 and verify the installation by locating the following IBM BPM virtual application templates:
- Process Center
- Process Application
- Process Application with Existing Process Center
- Process Application with External Database
