Applying an emergency fix to a virtual application instance
Interim fixes are applied to virtual application instances as emergency fixes. Apply emergency fixes to your IBM® Business Process Manager virtual application instances that are running in your cloud.
Before you begin
- You have all access to the virtual application instance or the Appliance administration role with Full permissions.
- The virtual application instance is started.
- The emergency fix is added to the catalog.
Attention:
- Create a backup before you apply an emergency fix. IBM PureApplication® System does not capture a snapshot when you apply an emergency fix to a virtual application instance.
- The virtual application instance is unavailable while emergency fixes are being installed because IBM BPM runtime instances are restarted during the process.

Results
Important: If you apply a
fix to a virtual application instance and then scale out custom nodes
in that virtual application instance, the new custom nodes also contain
the fix that you installed if the fix package remains on PureApplication System.
