Configuring the JDBC driver for your database

You can use the IBM® Content Navigator Configuration and Deployment Tool to add your database JDBC driver to your web application server environment variables so that IBM Content Navigator can access its configuration database table.

Before you begin

Before you configure your database JDBC driver, you must copy the JDBC driver for your database to the IBM Content Navigator server.

Highly Available ClustersIf you plan to deploy IBM Content Navigator in a highly available cluster, you must copy the driver to the same directory on each node in the cluster.

This task assumes that you have a configuration profile open in the IBM Content Navigator Configuration and Deployment Tool.

Procedure

To configure your database JDBC driver:

  1. Open the following task in your configuration profile: Configure the JDBC Driver for Your Database.
  2. Complete the task by using the values that you entered in the Worksheet for configuring the JDBC driver for your database.
  3. Click Next to run the task.

If you are manually running the tasks in the IBM Content Navigator Configuration and Deployment Tool, you can take one of the following actions:

    • Click Run Task to run the task now. This option is recommended because it makes it easier to troubleshoot and resolve problems if they occur.
    • Wait until all of the tasks are complete and then click Run All Tasks to run all of the tasks that are required to configure and deploy the web application.
