Updates for V8.1.2
This document provides information about what's new or what has changed in Data Protection for Microsoft Exchange Server version 8.1.2.
What's new
Automatic loading of Windows PowerShell modules
- Windows PowerShell modules, FmModuleExc and FmModuleMMC, which contain the Data Protection for Exchange Server cmdlets, are imported automatically from the TDPExchange folder during installation of Data Protection for Exchange Server. For more information, see Preparing to use Windows PowerShell cmdlets.
What has changed
Scheduling wizard updated to support IBM Spectrum Protect™ client scheduler
- If you use the scheduling wizard on MMC to create a scheduled data protection task, you can now
choose a IBM Spectrum
Protect client scheduler to
manage the scheduled operation. When you select the IBM Spectrum
Protect client scheduler check box, a
macro file is created that automatically contains the relevant IBM Spectrum
Protect server commands you require to create a scheduled
task. You can specify IBM Spectrum
Protect server details,
such as administrator user details and the port and address of the IBM Spectrum
Protect server. You can also edit the created macro file
according to your requirements.
You can access the scheduling wizard in MMC by clicking Manage> Scheduling in the navigation tree or from the Actions pane by clicking the Run Interactively button to change the mode to Run Scheduled.
