Running WebSphere Liberty on Amazon EKS on AWS

You can run WebSphere® Liberty on Amazon Web Services (AWS) by using an AWS Partner Solution that is called IBM WebSphere Liberty for Amazon EKS. This AWS Partner Solution installs a WebSphere Liberty operator in an Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS) cluster.

Optionally, you can also deploy a provided sample application image, or you can deploy your own applications.

Procedure

  1. Ensure that you have an active WebSphere entitlement.

To use WebSphere Liberty for Amazon EKS on the AWS Cloud, you must have a valid license to use WebSphere Liberty. For a list of products that grant you entitlement to use WebSphere Liberty, see Viewing license information for WebSphere Liberty operator.

  2. Provision an offer.
    1. Select the IBM WebSphere Liberty for Amazon EKS Partner Solution offer in the portal. You must be licensed to run offers in Amazon EKS on the AWS Cloud.
    2. Select one of the deployment options from the How to deploy tab to start provisioning the offer.
    3. Use the wizard to specify your choices.

What to do next

After initial provisioning, you can follow the deployment guide to verify your deployment and for more details. You can also deploy more Liberty applications to your EKS cluster.
