IBM Streams 4.2

Defining the installation location

You define a setting in Streams Explorer view that points to the location where IBM® Streams is installed. The installation location is required and must contain a compatible version of IBM Streams for Streams Studio to function properly.

About this task

To edit the Streams installation location for the current Streams Studio session, complete the following steps:

Procedure

  1. In the Streams Explorer view, select the Streams Installations folder.
  2. Right-click the installation location and click Edit Install Location.
  3. If Streams Studio is installed on a Linux system, in the Edit Install Location window, specify the location of the IBM Streams installation that you want to use.
Note: When Studio is started, if an Install Location is not specified, Streams Studio prompts you to supply one using the STREAMS_INSTALL location as a possible choice.
  4. If Streams Studio is installed on a local Linux or Windows system that accesses a remote Linux system where IBM Streams is installed, complete the following steps:
    1. Create or select an existing connection to the remote Linux system where IBM Streams is installed. To create a connection by editing the sample connection configuration file, see Creating a connection configuration file for remote development.
    2. Specify the location where IBM Streams is installed on the remote Linux system.
    3. Specify the remote workspace location, which is a directory on the remote Linux system where IBM Streams is installed.
  5. Click OK to save your changes.
