IMS Mobile Feature Pack for z/OS Connect is no longer enhanced. IMS Mobile Feature Pack (z/OS Connect)

The IMS™ Mobile Feature Pack provides a solution to create RESTful mobile services to access IMS transactions.

IMS Mobile Feature Pack is a service provider for IBM® WebSphere® Liberty z/OS® Connect (z/OS Connect) for building mobile services to access your IMS assets. z/OS Connect, a feature that runs in WebSphere Application Server Liberty Profile, is designed to provide a fast, secure, reliable connector to reach any z/OS asset. z/OS Connect provides a standard way for these assets to be identified and reached by using the Representational State Transfer (REST) technology. z/OS Connect services are represented in the JavaScript Object Notation (JSON) format.

The solution that is provided by IMS Mobile Feature Pack complements the IBM MobileFirst Platform Foundation platform for mobile access with zEnterprise®. IBM MobileFirst Platform Foundation serves as the mobile enterprise application platform in a mobile-enabled architecture. It provides application management, security, and operational governance for mobile applications. z/OS Connect augments the role of IBM MobileFirst Platform Foundation by providing a standards-based interface to back-end z/OS programs and applications with data conversion services.

Tooling support for IMS Mobile Feature Pack for modeling, creating, testing, and managing services is provided through IMS Explorer for Development in IMS Enterprise Suite V3.2 or later.

Important: IMS Enterprise Suite V3.2.1 is the last release to include this component. No further updates will be made to either WebSphere® Application Server Liberty Profile V8.5.5.7 or its z/OS Connect V1.0 feature that are bundled in this component. Customers should move to the IMS service provider in IBM z™/OS Connect Enterprise Edition V2.0.5 (APAR PI70432) or later, which not only supports later releases of these bundled components but additionally provides support for REST API creation and deployment.
