Description
The following components of IMS Enterprise Suite Version 3.2 are new or include enhancements:- IMS Mobile Feature Pack for z/OS® Connect Enterprise Edition
This component is now included in z/OS Connect EE V2.0.5 (APAR PI70432) or later as the IMS service provider, which significantly simplifies the installation and getting started process. Existing customers of this component in IMS Enterprise Suite should upgrade the server to z/OS Connect EE V2.0.5 or later and start using the bundled IMS service provider. Existing services and APIs are untouched and no migration is needed. For more information about z/OS Connect EE and the IMS service provider, see Using the IMS service provider (in z/OS Connect EE documentation in IBM® Knowledge Center).
- IMS Mobile Feature Pack (for WebSphere® Liberty z/OS Connect)
You can now create multiple connection profiles for the same server instance, with each connection profile associated with a unique user name and password. This user name and password are passed to IMS Connect for SAF authentication.
Important: IMS Enterprise Suite V3.2.1 is the last release to include this component. No further updates will be made to either WebSphere Application Server Liberty Profile V8.5.5.7 or its z/OS Connect V1.0 feature that are bundled in this component. Customers should move to the IMS service provider in z/OS Connect EE V2.0.5 (APAR PI70432) or later, which not only supports later releases of these bundled components but additionally provides support for REST API definition and deployment. - IMS Explorer
for Development
- The support for generating DDL from a database, editing, and submitting the changes to the IMS catalog in IMS 14 is added.
- For both versions of IMS Mobile Feature Pack, you can now create multiple connection profiles for the same server instance, with each connection profile associated with a unique user name and password.
- For IMS Mobile Feature Pack for z/OS Connect EE, IMS Explorer for Development V3.2.1 adds the support for generating the service archive file for a service. This service archive file is required to define a RESTful API for the service.
- IMS SOAP Gateway
- Support for dynamic destination routing for synchronous callout is added by using the control data area in the ICAL call in IMS 14. You can change the routing destination from what was specified in the callout web service WSDL file, and you can specify to use a different XML converter from the one that is specified in the correlator file for callout processing.
- Support for customized SOAP headers for synchronous callout is added by using the control data area in the ICAL call in IMS 14. The PTF for IMS Enterprise Suite V3.2 APAR PI52861 is required.
- For discontinued features and support in this release, see Removed features.
