Before you create collections, you might need
to install
additional software or adjust system configuration settings to support
the types of data that you plan to search or analyze.
For example:
- On Windows, ensure that the Windows service
is correctly configured.
- Depending on the types of data sources
that you plan to add to
collections, you might need to run setup scripts on the crawler server
before you configure crawlers.
- On AIX® and Linux,
you need to verify or set ulimit values.
- If you do not want
to use the installed version of the information
center, you can configure the system to use the information center
on a public IBM® Web site.
- On Windows, you
can configure the system to use a Common
Internet File System (CIFS) network drive to store collection data.
