You can shut down and restart Virtual I/O Server using the Hardware Management Console (HMC).

You can restart Virtual I/O Server logical partitions using the Hardware Management Console (HMC). Restarting a Virtual I/O Server logical partition shuts down the Virtual I/O Server logical partition and then starts it again.
