Running the stand-alone hardware diagnostics
If the system that you want to run hardware diagnostics on has the AIX® operating system installed but it cannot be started, or you have the Linux operating system installed, use this procedure to perform hardware diagnostic procedures. The stand-alone hardware diagnostics can be run from CD, DVD, or a NIM server. Use this procedure when directed from another procedure or by your next level of support.
