Troubleshooting

The following FAQs refer to troubleshooting.

FAQ: Reports generated into PDF format are not searchable in external readers, such as Adobe Reader. How can I resolve this issue?
Answer (V6.2, V7.0): Instead of exporting to PDF, print the report using a printer that can create a PDF file or a PDF-creating utility, such as PDFCreator, which takes the postscript data sent to the printer and converts it to PDF, enabling the PDF search to function.

FAQ: When using IBM Rational ClearCase with WebSphere Business Modeler, why might I be having trouble checking things in?
Answer: You might not have permission to check things into your repository, which might give you the following error message: "Project already exists." Or error messages might be in the log file. If, looking at the log file, you see messages similar to "CCRC command 'Mkelem' failed: Unable to create new element for <VOB location>", you might not have write access to for the VOB. Your primary group must have write access to VOB. If you belong to multiple groups, the first group in the list should be the primary group or the group that has write access to the VOB. Otherwise, your attempt to use the VOB might fail.

FAQ: Where can I get fixes for WebSphere Business Modeler?
Answer: You can find fixes at IBM Support Fix Central.

FAQ: How do I fix an out-of-memory error?
Answer: To fix an out-of-memory error, see Changing the heap size for improved performance.

FAQ: I changed my artifacts, but the WebSphere Business Modeler Team Support Synchronize view does not list the changes. How do I fix this problem?
Answer: It is likely that the artifacts that you changed are being shared to the team repository from one machine, which is on one clock, but the machine where you checked out the artifacts to is on another clock. If the clocks on both machines are not the same, the changes are not processed and displayed correctly in the Synchronize view. Check your machines' times and synchronize the clocks before you synchronize the artifacts.

FAQ: I am trying to drag the data field from the Fields View into a group, but the correct data does not appear in the generated report. How do I construct an XPath expression to extract data from my workspace?
Answer: See The correct data does not appear in the generated report.

FAQ: How do I avoid receiving the "Select input and output" message when I connect objects such as tasks, forks, and decisions?
Answer: See Avoiding the "Select input and output" message.
