Notes:

1. HPE StoreEver MSL3040 is supported by IBM Spectrum Protect Sever version 8.1.4 or newer

2. Tape Library configurations for base model and with 6 expansion modules

  • 3 Half-Height (HH) LTO drives per base module
  • 21 HH LTO drives per full stack
  • 32 slots per base module, 40 slots per expansion module, 272 slots per full stack
  • 4 mail slots per base module, 34 per full stack
  • 3U per module to a maximum of 21U

3. Barcodes are required

4. Eight character barcodes are required. The last 2 characters must be the media identifier "L#" where # is the tape cartridge generation. For example, ABC456L8 for an LTO-8 cartridge. Without a proper barcode label, a volume will appear as "unknown media"

5. ELEMent=AUTODetect in the DEFINE/UPDATE DRIVE command is supported

6. HPE StoreEver MSL3040 supports mixed generation LTO drives in the same partition

7. HPE StoreEver MSL3040 is available with the following SAS and Fibre Channel drives:

  • LTO-7 support requires IBM Spectrum Protect Server 7.1.4 or later
  • LTO-8 support requires IBM Spectrum Protect Server 8.1.4 or later
  • LTO-9 support requires IBM Spectrum Protect Server 8.1.14.100 or later
