APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• An XML job rejecting the message when the validation rule
  "Items are not declared in schema" is set to any other value
  other than Fatal and "Mandatory item is missing" is set to
  Reject
  
  The XML job worked well at IS8.7
  

Local fix

Problem summary

• Null pointer exception is thrown when XMLPack  job is executed
  for missing required element when Mandatory item missing rule is
   set to Reject and Items Not
  declared in schema to Fatal. After the record is rejected, it
  was checking for unknown XML structure to handle which was
  causing the issue.
  

Problem conclusion

• Now Unknown XML  structure will not be checked when the record
  is rejected during xmlpack job run.
