APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Information Server 8.7. When multiple users have the same uid
in /etc/passwd, only one user displays in the user list in the
Web Console. This is legal at the unix level.

Local fix

Problem summary

  • Because the uid was being used as a unique index for the user,
then only the last user with the same uid was left when the
table of all users was built. Thus only the last user using a
common shared UID in the configured passwd file would show in
the list of Users displayed in the IS Web Console.

Problem conclusion

  • Changed to use a different unique value as the index so that all
users are now included in the tabel and properly displayed. This
issue was actually introduced with the fix for JR44572.
