JR44536: MQ CONNECTOR READ JOBS ARE FAILING WITH THE FOLLOWING MQ ERROR MQRC_WRONG_MD_VERSION INTERMITTENTLY

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• While reading the messages from the queue, the MQ Connector is
  sometimes failing with the following error message.
  Message: WebSphere_MQ_Connector,0: Get message failed with
  reason code: 2257
  (MQRC_WRONG_MD_VERSION)(CC_WSMQSourceQueue::getNextMsgFromQueue(
  ), file CC_WSMQSourceQueue.cpp, line 869)
  The problem is intermittent and occasionally, we are seeing the
  following error message as well.
  
  WebSphere_MQ_Connector_0,1: MQGET call executed with completion
  code 1  (MQCC_WARNING), reason code 2190
  (MQRC_CONVERTED_STRING_TOO_BIG)

Problem summary

• While reading the messages from the queue, the MQ Connector is

Problem conclusion

• Addressed the code to provide enough buffer while reading the
  converted buffer.
  
  Also, set the MQMD version to the correct version on successive
  calls to MQGET
