Error description

  • ENVIRONMENT:
    IBM WebSphere DataStage Enterprise Edition 8.0.1.4971
    Parallel Jobs are affected.
    Server Jobs work correctly.
    
    DESCRIPTION:
    When trying to use environment variables in the Webservices
    Transformer Stage - Web service information, for properties such
    as "Port Address", the job will fail/abort.
    
    Example:
    
    Assuming we have an environment variable $XMLHOSTNAME defined
    and use it in the Port Address WSDL property, in a
    WSTransformerPX stage in a PX job, such as:
    
    Port Address:  http://#$XMLHOSTNAME#/myXMLService
    
    
    the job will abort at runtime with an error similar to the
    following:
    
    Fatal Error: Fatal:
    0026`:`com.ascentialsoftware.wsclient.ServiceInvocationException
    : Service invocation exception: <ns1:Fault
    xmlns:ns1="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/">
       <faultcode>soapenv:Server.userException</faultcode>

Local fix

  • This is a Client Side issue, that is resolved by applying
    a patch for ecase 118170v3.  This patch addresses this and other
    parameter related issues.
    
    This APAR is only intended to document the fact that ecase
    118170v3 addresses and fixes this issue.
