| Temporary license keys for your order |
|
These keys should only be used by IBM Rational customers who place orders at the end of a month and need to access your software before IBM can process your order. These keys are not intended to be used for software evaluations, trials, or demos. For customers who have placed a recent order for an IBM Rational product that requires a license key, your permanant keys will be made available to you within minutes of IBM processing your order. We recommend fulfilling your permanent key instead of using a temporary key so that you will only need to handle license keys one time. However, if you need to access your software before your permanent keys become available, you can download a temporary key. You do not have to download a temporary key in order to use permanent keys. Note: All temporary keys made available below will expire on the 7th day of the upcoming month (example: July 7). To download a key, select the appropriate license key type from the following list of IBM Rational products and review the installation notes at the bottom of this page. |

Windows instructions - Download the license key file. For Authorized User keys, open the key on the machine where you'll use the product. For Floating keys, open the key on your license server. In both cases, the IBM Rational License Key Administrator will launch and import the key.
UNIX instructions - Download the license key file. Save the key in the /config directory as the filename Temporary.dat. If Temporary.dat already exists on your system, append the contents of the license key file into the existing Temporary.dat file. If the floating keys will be served by your license server, please ensure the top of the file includes the following two lines below starting with the words SERVER and DAEMON: SERVER any any DAEMON rational Note: Contact Rational Support via email based off of your geographical location if you require assistance:
Footnote: For customers who have purchased Rational AppScan or Policy Tester, send an email to salesops@us.ibm.com, include your name, your company name, the name of the product you purchased, the quantity of licenses you purchased, and your Purchase Order number and within a few minutes the Rational team will send you back a temporary license key for your product. |
