The “It’s Amazing Out There” photo contest, in partnership with Toyota, engages millions of weather.com users to submit their photos, vote for their favorites, and admire the winners – and encourages people to go out and experience the world.
With the goal of driving awareness for their brand in a brand-safe, personalized experience, Toyota and Watson Advertising teamed up on this lifestyle sponsorship that aligns with adventurous content and speaks to the lifestyle of Toyota’s target audience.
Elements of the photo contest include:
- Photo Submissions: From July 10th through August 14th, users can submit their animal, nature, adventure, or weather-related photos via weather.com/photocontest for a chance to win.
- Voting: From August 14th through September 7th, all users can check out the amazing photos submitted for the contest, and vote for their favorites. The Fan Favorites are eligible to win up to $1,000! In 2017, the Photo Contest garnered over 50,000 high quality photo submissions, and close to 250,000 votes from fans.
- Winner Selection: In mid-September, an expert jury will select the Grand Prize, 2nd Place, and 3rd Place winners who can win cash prizes of up to $15,000!
The sponsorship will be supported with additional promotion including co-branded ad units on weather.com, a weather.com homepage promotion spotlight, a co-branded email marketing campaign, social media amplification, and native display partnerships driving users to the Photo Contest page.
