Are you interested in getting information on IBM i or acquiring a new skill? CEF recently added a new video library containing live-session recordings from COMMON conferences as well as webcast recordings that can be viewed at your convenience. Available 24x7, watch when and where you want.

Live-session recordings are of respected authorities in the industry presenting on some of the latest IT topics. The content available focuses on both business development as well as technical development. Technical content includes information on hot topics like cybersecurity, modernization and IBM topics in general. Business development content features topics to help individuals successfully navigate career development like team building and problem solving. STUDENTS – Looking for the Best and Brightest in IT!

Once again, CEF, in conjunction with COMMON, is looking for the best and brightest students in IT for the Student Innovation Award. This award recognizes innovation in Information Systems, Enterprise Computing, Computer Science, Information Technology or a related concentration. Applicable to students and recent graduates, this award winner will have an opportunity to attend COMMON's Spring Conference in San Antonio, Texas from May 20-23, 2018. Here, the winner will receive unparalleled supplemental education as well as recognition and exposure to a huge community of IT professionals and vendors.

In addition to the grand prize winner receiving an all-expense paid trip to POWERUp18 at the Marriott RiverCenter in San Antonio, Texas from May 20-23, 2018, he/she will also receive the following:

Interest students should submit an academic-related information system project that they consider to be innovative. Projects may include something that improved a process, increased performance, improved productivity, or the development of a new tool or application.

Submissions must include:

  • Project abstract and report
  • Short video describing/demonstrating the project
  • Proof of student status or graduation within the last 12 months from an accredited institution

Are you interested in getting the latest education from authorities in the industry? Once again, the CEF will be providing sponsorship opportunities for educators to attend COMMON's Spring event. This year, COMMON's PowerUp Conference will be held in San Antonio, Texas from May 20-23, 2018.

For those educators that are interested, CEF offers a registration sponsorship, which covers the cost of registration. All additional expenses, including hotel and travel are not included.

In addition to the registration sponsorship, CEF also has one Volunteer Memorial Scholarship (VMS) available each year. The VMS recognizes and encourages volunteerism. As such, VMS winners must volunteer a portion of their time during the conference. This scholarship includes complimentary conference registration, airfare and hotel accommodations.
