Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall

Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall is a multi-award-winning writer and broadcaster known for his uncompromising commitment to seasonal, ethically produced food and his concern for the environment. He has earned a huge following through his River Cottage TV series and books, as well as campaigns such as Hugh’s Fish Fight, Hugh’s War on Waste, Britain’s Fat Fight, Saving Africa’s Elephants, and his latest War on Plastic with Hugh and Anita.

Hugh’s early smallholding experiences were shown in the Channel 4 River Cottage series and led to the publication of The River Cottage Cookbook (2001), which won the Glenfiddich Trophy and the André Simon Food Book of the Year award. Thirteen more books have followed, including the acclaimed River Cottage Meat Book and the immensely popular River Cottage Veg Everyday. Hugh’s latest book is River Cottage Much More Veg.

Hugh established River Cottage HQ in Dorset in 2004, and the operation is now based at Park Farm near Axminster in Devon. An organic smallholding, HQ is also the hub for a broad range of courses and events, and home to the River Cottage Cookery School.

Hugh’s broadcasting has earned him a BAFTA as well as awards from Radio 4, The Observer and the Guild of Food Writers. Besides more than 20 cookery-based series, Hugh’s TV work includes hard-hitting campaigns such as the highly influential Fish Fight, which brought about changes in fisheries law at the European level.

Hugh continues to work as a journalist and wrote a weekly column for The Guardian between 2006 and 2014. He is a vice president of Fauna and Flora International and a patron of Switchback, a charity that helps young offenders find opportunities in the catering industry.

Hugh, his wife Marie and their four children divide their time between East Devon and Bristol.

Katie Derham

Katie Derham is a presenter on BBC Radio 3 and one of the station’s best known voices, having presented Afternoons on 3 and more recently taking on the mantle of drive time programme In Tune, fronting the show on rotation with Sean Rafferty. Other Radio 3 credits include Sound of Dance on Saturday afternoons where she explored the relationship between music and dance in varying genres.

She has also been the face of the BBC Proms since 2010 and hosts the weekly magazine show Proms Extra every Saturday on BBC2 during the season. Katie also presented for BBC Four’s series of Discovering concert programmes in 2019.

Katie spent the first 15 years of her broadcasting career in news and current affairs, first at the BBC then as ITV’s youngest ever newsreader, where her role as anchor meant she covered everything from elections to royal weddings and the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.

She also fronts television documentaries, most recently presenting The Girl from Ipanema: Brazil, Bossa Nova and the Beach for the BBC, which saw her travelling to Rio de Janeiro, where her Father was born, to explore the story behind Brazil’s most famous and enduring song. She was the host of All Together Now: The Great Orchestra Challenge for BBC4 and Fine Tuned, two specials for Sky Arts in which she discussed music with Alexander Armstrong alongside exclusive performances from his latest albums.

John is a Senior Solution Architect for IBM Watson Financial Services leading the IBM TechForGood team in the IBM Centre of Excellence for Corporate Social Responsibility. Based in the IBM Ireland Software Lab, he was previously the Worldwide Practice Leader for IBM Security and Smarter Cities related project delivery. Prior to joining IBM, he was the Enterprise Program Director for Portal for TransAlta in Canada.

Andy Stanford-Clark

Andy Stanford-Clark is the Chief Technology Officer for IBM in the UK and Ireland.

Andy is an IBM Distinguished Engineer and Master Inventor with more than 40 patents, based at Hursley Laboratories, Winchester.
He has been working in the area that we now call the Internet of Things for more than 20 years and is passionate about helping organisations create new solutions for their business challenges.
Andy has a BSc in Computing and Mathematics and a PhD in Computer Science. He is a Visiting Professor at the University of Newcastle, an Honorary Professor at the University of East Anglia, an Adjunct Professor at the University of Southampton, and a Fellow of the British Computer Society.
Andy is hosting the CTO Programme at Think Summit London.

Tom Doughty is the Potential and Performance Manager within the People Strategy at Hampshire Constabulary. Tom has a background in Human Resource Management and has worked within Policing in the UK for sixteen years, joining the Metropolitan Police in 2003 within a local Borough Operational Command Unit and then starting with Hampshire Constabulary in 2010 to support local delivery of the outcomes from the 2010 comprehensive spending review.

Since 2015 Tom moved outside of transactional HR Project Management and focused on Organisational and People Development. This includes two years with the Shared Service Workforce Development team with responsibility for design and delivery of leadership development in force.

Tom is currently in the second year within their People Strategy project to design and deliver a new approach to talent management in the Constabulary, with a focus on identification, retention and development.

Chief Executive of STEM Learning

Yvonne is Chief Executive of STEM Learning – an organisation working to achieve a world-leading Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education for all young people across the UK, so benefitting them, their communities and the UK economy. Working with educators and employers of all sectors and sizes, STEM Learning drives forward UK STEM education by providing high-impact, STEM-specific professional learning for teachers, role models via the STEM Ambassador programme, support for STEM Clubs, and other high-impact STEM activities.

A Chartered Chemical Engineer, Yvonne spent time in manufacturing before moving into management consultancy. Whilst working full time, she studied for an MBA and moved into the STEM sector to establish the Science and Engineering (now STEM) Ambassadors volunteering programme in 2002. She joined STEM Learning in 2010, and has significantly grown the organisation’s reach and impact to become the UK’s largest provider of STEM support.

Yvonne has a strong personal passion for engaging all young people (particularly girls and those from disadvantaged backgrounds) with STEM, so they can understand the opportunities, enjoyment and excitement that STEM-related careers – particularly in the engineering and manufacturing sectors – can provide.

Erika Lewis was a founding member of London Government, moving from the voluntary sector to join the set-up team in the London Development Agency in April 2000. At the LDA she delivered regeneration programmes across London, in particular working with the Finsbury Park Partnership and on the Olympic Park delivery programme. Subsequently, as the Director of Strategy at the LDA, she was responsible for the development and delivery of the Mayor’s Economic Development Strategy. In 2012, Erika became a Project Director at the Competition and Markets Authority where she delivered two merger investigations and led the Private Motor Insurance and Energy Market Investigation. Erika has joined DCMS in 2018 to deliver the National Data Strategy, in addition she is responsible for Data Policy and Ethics.

He's since driven the evolution of Green Rock to become a content production agency, working with both brands and broadcasters as they adapt their content to a digital-first world. Driven by creative innovation, Green Rock now has an end to end offering that operates all over the world, using cloud-based workflows from their London based film studio and into post production & delivery.
