IT’s IBM Power Cloud infrastructure is the most geographically distributed of all the IBM Partners. The infrastructure platform in the UK operates from 4 secure, highly resilient data centres, giving customers the choice of locations from which to position Production, DR and DevOps infrastructure services. The UK platform forms part of the global Meridian Group IBM Power Cloud which resides across further 6 data centres in the USA and this integrated cloud serves UK and international customers today.

Meridian IT’s IBM Power Cloud consists of POWER7, POWER8, POWER9 systems and POWER9 AI systems so customers can migrate a diverse range of applications onto whichever platform suits their purposes the best.

From anyone of the DC locations, the Power Cloud integrates with Public Cloud Services so access to the IBM Cloud, AWS or Azure can be managed by Meridian IT under a single management.

Meridian IT’s integrated services are designed to deliver cloud optimisation for business by combining a range of managed services with the either iSeries, Linux, AIX or Wintel environments. As well as IaaS, Meridian IT also delivers Backup as a Service – options include cloud backup and VTL in the cloud; Disaster Recovery as a Service which can be delivered by software replication or hardware-based replication for the highest degree of HA service levels. Other services include DevOps as a Service supported by the Company’s Software Development Division which assist customers with application migration challenges and application modernisation to make cloud transition a possibility and data anonymisation to ensure data privacy compliancy.

Meridian IT’s Power Cloud offers its customers additional piece of mind with the deployment of additional cyber security services delivered by its Security Operations Centre (SOC) and SIEM service for the IBM platform. These services include anti-virus software which comes as standard, as well as policy management and secure file transfer facilities.

Migration to any cloud and its optimisation is achieved through careful planning. Meridian IT utilises a proven migration process called Transform – which is delivered by its Project Management Office. The methodology provides a templated approach for transferring applications and data into the Cloud and all cloud migration projects are managed by Prince II accredited PMs. We are also accredited to ISO9001 and ISO27001.

The process starts with a Cloud Survey (free of charge) and technical consultancy to assist with solution design.
