1. What is TED@IBM?
TED@IBM is a partnership between the TED Institute and IBM. Together, we are hosting a bona fide TED event featuring IBMers and people within IBM’s network of partners, customers, influencers, and people whose work we admire. This year’s event, similar to last year’s, will be curated, developed, produced, and filmed by TED, and will deliver vital insights into IBM’s corporate culture, values, and contributions to the world.
2. Is TED@IBM really just a TEDx?
No. TEDx events are planned and coordinated independently, under a free license granted by TED. TEDx events are not produced or hosted by TED. Through the TED Institute partnership, TED@IBM will be curated, developed, produced, filmed and edited by TED and these talks will be released as "TED content".
3. Who else has had this kind of partnership with TED?
The TED Institute formed in 2013 as the professional development arm of TED. With the TED Institute, partners can harness the entire ecosystem of TED to explore how TED can help organizations unlock institutional knowledge, surface innovative thinking, and ultimately enhance how they tell their stories to the world at large. TED Institute partners tend to stay around from year to year because of the success that each sees with the program. In addition to TED@IBM, partnership events for the last few years have included TED@Intel, TED@State Street, TED@UPS, TED@Westpac and TED@BCG among others!
4. Where will TED@IBM be held?
TED@IBM will be held in San Francisco, CA, USA at SFJAZZ Center located at 201 Franklin Street.
5. Why are you hosting this in San Francisco?
San Francisco was a deliberate decision. We wanted to showcase innovative thinkers in the heart of the San Francisco tech scene. In recent years, San Francisco has been at the forefront of technology, innovation, and design. This is symbolically significant to IBM which, as a 106-year old company, continues to lead in these areas through an active commitment to prioritize innovation over traditionalism and complacency.
6. Is TED@IBM open to the public?
No. TED@IBM is an invitation-only event. Invitations are non-transferable.
7. Who will be invited?
Attendance is limited to 500 invitees.
We have a limited number of spaces, and people across the globe interested in attending. TED events are all about the audience and TED@IBM will be no different. That’s why we are carefully curating our list of attendees to ensure that we achieve just the right mix.
8. I would like to attend TED@IBM. Can I do that?

9. Can I just forward the registration link to someone else?
No. Attendance is by invitation only and, similar to last year, we anticipate a wait list.
10. Are you paying travel or hotel expenses for attendees?
No. Attendees are expected to pay their own travel and hotel expenses, however there is no fee for the event itself.
11. Are you serving lunch?
Of course! We will serve a catered lunch.
12. What is the date and time of the event?
The event is Wednesday, December 6, 2017. Registration will begin one hour before the scheduled start time. The specific schedule for the day will be published shortly.
13. Are there any networking dinners or receptions?

14. Will the event be streamed live?
Yes the event will be streamed live to IBM locations. Stay tuned for details.
15. Will TED@IBM talks be made available after the event?
Yes, talks will be posted to the TED website after the event.
