Power Estimation Tool for 3906 help

Specify the quantity for the features that are installed in your machine. This tool estimates the power consumption and weight for the specified configuration.

Note: The exact power consumption for your machine will vary. The object of the tool is produce an estimation of the power requirements to aid you in planning for your machine installation.

Installed Altitude

Specify the altitude in feet. The amount of power required to cool the box changes above 1500, 3100 and 6000 feet.

Flexible memory

While there is no feature code associated with flexible memory, an “05” message will be included in the Configuration Comments section of the configurator output. If the Flexible Option checkbox is selected then the following message will be generated, “The Flexible Memory Option has been selected for this system.“ Feature code 1990 and 1991 will be used to specify the additional memory added to the system.

Internal battery

If the internal battery feature is installed the tool will calculate the battery hold time for the specified configuration.

Earthquake feature

The earthquake bolt down kit is specified by features 8003, 8004, and 8005.

Customer configured processors

These are the processors ordered with the system and include CPs, ICFs, IFLs, zAAPs, and zIIPs. Include CBU processors only if you are estimating consumption when CBU is active. CBU engine feature code counts must be divided by the CBU years to get the actual number of additional engines. Do not include SAP processors. Base SAPs are automatically included in the calculation by specifying the model.

Model Max customer configured processors Base SAPs Max optional SAPs
M01 or LM1 33 5 4
M02 or LM2 69 10 8
M03 or LM3 105 15 12
M04 or LM4 141 20 16
M05 or LM5 170 23 16

Optional SAPs

Enter the number of optional SAPs ordered with the system. This is the total number of SAPs minus the base SAPs defined for the model in the table above.

Memory

Enter the amount of memory ordered for this system not the amount physically installed. Feature codes 1660-1738 define the ordered memory. Set the Flexible memory option to Yes if flexible memory is installed.

Weight

The weight estimate includes the cover set. The frame extensions are included if feature 7942 is installed.
