Power Estimation Tool for z13s help

Specify the quantity for the features that are installed in your machine. This tool estimates the power consumption and weight for the specified configuration.

Note: The exact power consumption for your machine will vary. The object of the tool is produce an estimation of the power requirements to aid you in planning for your machine installation.

A second processor drawer is specified by feature 1045.

Installed Altitude

Specify the altitude in feet. The amount of power required to cool the box changes above 1500, 3100 and 6000 feet.

Internal battery

If the internal battery feature is installed the tool will calculate the battery hold time for the specified configuration.

Earthquake feature

The earthquake bolt down kit is specified by features 8021 and 8022.

I/O drawers

Select the number of drawers that contain cards. Each I/O drawer can support 8 cards. I/O drawers are specified by feature code 4000.

PCIe I/O drawers

Select the number of drawers that contain cards. Each PCIe I/O drawer can support 32 cards. PCIe I/O drawers are specified by feature code 4032.

Customer configured processors

These are the processors ordered with the system and include CPs, ICFs, IFLs, zAAPs, and zIIPs. Include CBU processors only if you are estimating consumption when CBU is active. CBU engine feature code counts must be divided by the CBU years to get the actual number of additional engines. Do not include SAP processors. Base SAPs are automatically included in the calculation by specifying the model.

Memory

Enter the amount of memory ordered for this system not the amount physically installed. Feature codes 3616-3665 define the ordered memory.

Weight

The weight estimate includes the cover set. The frame extensions are included if feature 7920 is installed.
