Service and feature packs released for the z/VM 7.4 DirMaint component


z/VM 7.4 introduced linear service to the product. Service fix packs and feature packs are now released on a regular cadence. By installing the latest pack you will receive all service fixes and features for the component. Refer to the change log table below for a comprehensive list of changes to the component since the z/VM 7.4 General Availability date.

  • CHNGID does not purge/add RACF PERMITS for LINKed MDISKS
    The bug was with backup of each link was overwriting the previous link backup. Fixed it to append instead of overwrite. Also, the args of owner's addr and link vaddr were swaped and out of order causing the links from a INCLUDE profile failing if owner's addr and link vaddr are different.
  • DirMaint incorrectly deleting the links when subconfig is purged
    When a subconfig have MDISK statement and is purged, then it dlinks the LINK statements in users even when the MDISK statement is present in more than one subconfig. A check was added so that it does not delete the links for MDISK if the same MDISK statement exists as part of other subconfigs.

  • Enhanced LOADDEV Support
    This enhancement enhances the current DirMaint LOADDEV command to support the ALTERNATE keyword. The addition of LOADDEV ALTERNATE statements introduces support for up to three alternate paths for a SCSI Device, thereby extending the capability to handle multiple paths for IPLing the guest.
