IBM Support

You cannot generate API keys from Google Cloud Messaging and any previously generated GCM keys throw unauthorized errors

Troubleshooting

Problem

Starting from Sept. 2016, new API keys can only be created in the Firebase Console using the Cloud Messaging tab of the Settings panel. Existing projects that need to create new API keys can be imported into the Firebase console without affecting their existing configuration. This change also affects the link in Knowledge Center for enabling push notifications in Maximo Anywhere: http://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SSPJLC_7.6.1/com.ibm.si.mpl… The link in the On Android section should now be: https://console.firebase.google.com/?pli=1
