xxx.xaml.cs WPF using .NET 2005 with Framework 3.0 not handled appropriately in ClearCase VSIP integration

Troubleshooting

Problem

This technote identifies an IBM® Rational® ClearCase® defect relating to an issue with the Microsoft® Visual Studio .NET 2005 integration not handling .cs files and provides you with information on how to workaround the issue.

Symptom

The xxx.xaml.cs files are not handled appropriately in the ClearCase 7.0 integration with Visual Studio .NET 2005.

These files are located under xxx.xaml in the Visual Studio solution explorer.

They are created when writing a Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) application.

  1. There is no ClearCase menu on these files. You cannot display a version tree on these files because there are no ClearCase context menu options.

  2. You cannot directly check-in or check-out these files, however, you can check-out from the higher level xxx.xaml file (parent).
