XML gateway unable to send events to ASM event observer

Troubleshooting


Problem

Following the instruction for deploying the XML Gateway for Event Observer, the Gateway throws an IOException when sending events to ASM Event observer.

Symptom

When the XML Gateway fails to handle events, the following errors shown in the XML gateway log file:
2019-10-08T21:43:06: Debug: D-GJA-000-000: [ngjava]: XMLGateway: Sending post payload to server with MIME type ‘text/plain’.
2019-10-08T21:43:06: Debug: D-GJA-000-000: [ngjava]: XMLGateway: Written bytes = 524.
2019-10-08T21:43:06: Debug: D-GOB-105-051: [ngobjserv]: Reader: Update data check handler invoked.
2019-10-08T21:43:06: Error: E-GJA-000-000: [ngjava]: XMLGateway: Caught IOException when reading response code: Server returned HTTP response code: 415 for URL: https://<asm host>/1.0/event-observer/netcool/list
2019-10-08T21:43:06: Debug: D-GJA-000-000: [ngjava]: XMLGateway: Waiting for next retry
