XA Resiliency feature of TXSeries doesn’t work with WMQ as RM.

Abstract

The XA resiliency feature of TXSeries doesn’t work with CICS region after restarting WMQ when the region is up and running.

Content

TXSeries 6.1 introduced XA Resiliency feature that the CICS region remains available even after a Resource Manager failure happens during interaction of a CICS region with a XA compliant resource manager (failure could be detected either during the region startup or while execution of a transaction).

WMQ is also one of the resource managers on all the supported platforms for TXSeries, but the XA resiliency feature doesn’t work with WMQ after restarting WMQ. Even after restarting WMQ Queue Manager, TXSeries CICS connection to the queue manager fails. User applications performing MQ connection API will fail.
The current workaround is to restart CICS region after WMQ Queue Manager restart.
