WSDL import fails with illegal character error

Problem

Attempts to import or synchronize a WSDL in IBM Rational Integration Tester (RIT) fail with error CRRIT4235E

Symptom

You are loading a WSDL into the Schema Library of Architecture School.

You see a failure with the following error message:


error: Type: Warning
Error: [CRRIT4235E] Problem occurred during refresh of URL
"file:////<filename>.wsdl", issue was:
java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Illegal character in path at index 49:


The WSDL might work correctly in other tools or programs.
