Problem

This document discusses an issue where the Work with Spooled Files (WRKSPLF) command does not show all of a user's spooled files when using basic assistance level.

Resolving The Problem

This document discusses an issue where the Work with Spooled Files (WRKSPLF) command does not show all of a user's spooled files when using basic assistance level. This can occur under the following circumstances:

oWhen the WRKSPLF command is used with the Assistance level (ASTLVL) parameter set to *BASIC,
oWhen the WRKSPLF command is used with the ASTLVL parameter set to *USRPRF when the user profile has the Assistance level (ASTLVL) parameter set to *BASIC,
oWhen the WRKSPLF command is used with the ASTLVL parameter set to *PRV or using the default value of *PRV when the last use of the WRKSPLF command was using basic assistance level, or
oWhen the WRKSPLF command is used with the ASTLVL parameter set to *INTERMED and the F21 (Select assistance level) key has been used to set the assistance level to 1 (Basic).

The Work with Spooled Files (WRKSPLF) command lets you select which spooled files to work with by selecting the user, print device, form type, user data, ASP, and spooled file:

Working with All Spooled Files for a User when Using Basic Assistance

By default, working with spooled files in basic assistance will exclude system output, such as QPJOBLOG spooled files or job logs. For example:

To work with system output in addition to all other spooled files, press the F20 (Include system output) key. For example:

Working with All Spooled Files for a User by Using Intermediate Assistance

Another option would be to work with spooled files using intermediate assistance level by pressing the F21 (Select assistance level) key and selecting 2=Intermediate. For example:

This will result in working with spooled file using intermediate assistance level, which is indicated by showing the Work with All Spooled Files screen instead of the Work with Printer Output screen:
