Troubleshooting


Problem

This technote explains why the WrappedException exception might occur during an IBM Rational Functional Tester recording against a web browser.

Symptom

The full error message is as follows:

WrappedException[java.lang.NullPointerException] - null

The recording window displays this message in red characters. The message can occur once or several times in a reproducible way.

The error occurs after enabling the web browser and testing the web browser. Then you start the recording and click on a control in the Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) application.

You might see no problem in the recording and the playback of the IBM Rational sample application of ClassicJavaA or another HTML application.
