Working with integer data type on Oracle 10gr2 database server

Troubleshooting

Problem

When extracting from Oracle database 10gr2, a integer column, using Oracle Operator on parallel canvas, the internal data type used by Oracle is always decimal type. This can lead to a warning message from IBM InformationServer when the table definition of the IBM DataStage job is set to integer: Implicit conversion from source type "decimal [38,0]" to result type "int32": Possible range/precision limitation

Symptom

Implicit conversion from source type "decimal [38,0]" to result type "int32": Possible
range/precision limitation
