Troubleshooting
Problem
Gets the following error message when installing SPSS 15: "1603: Error installing Windows installer engine. A file which needs to be replaced may be held in use. Close all applications and try again." Browsing the cd and installing that way gave the same error message. It is a site license for 2 users, both machines get the same error, but they have exactly the same setup.
Resolving The Problem
There might be permission issues with the following keys:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Classes\Interface\{70778FE0-F6F6-11D1-9C09-0060975001E5}.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Classes\.aif\OpenWithProgids.
Please grant permissions to these keys and try installing again
