Question
Why is my Performance Report showing numbers where the URLs should be?
Answer
The issue with URLs in reports displaying as numbers is likely caused by the allowlist for the URL (Normalized) dimension having become corrupt. These steps will allow you to verify whether this is the case:
- Log in to the Tealeaf Portal.
- Click on Configure / Event Manager.
- Select the Dimensions tab and find the URL (Normalized) dimension.
- Secondary-Click on the URL (Normalized) dimension and select "Edit Dimension..." from the context menu.
- Near the bottom of the pop-up edit window click on "Advanced Options".
- Click the "Edit allowlist..." button.
In a correctly configured allowlist the first column labeled "Value" will be a list of URLs and the second column labeled "Display Value" will be a list of URLs as they are to be displayed in reports. If the list corruption has occurred the second column will instead be a list of numbers.
If this is the case the situation is easily resolved by
- exporting the allowlist
- using an editor to copy the first column into the second so that the URLs are used as their own display values
- removing the corrupt allowlist and
- importing the cleaned allowlist.
