Question & Answer
Question
Which protocol is used when the protocol method of SSLv23 is specified with the SSL Protocol adapter command (-SPROTO).
If -SPROTO is not specified, the SSL Protocol defaults to SSLv23.
Cause
When using SSL Protocol adapter command (-SPROTO) to set the Secure Socket Layer (SSL) protocol level and the GSKIT module is loaded.
Answer
Whenever the protocol method of SSLv23 is specified, the protocol of first choice is TLSv1.2, with fallback to TLS 1.1, then TLSv1, then to SSLv3, and finally to SSLv2. (Dependent on the GSKit module being loaded.)
