IBM Support

Where the SMTP Aliases are stored on the IBM System i WHEN USING *SDD (System Distribution Directory)

Troubleshooting

Problem

Where is the location of the SMTP Aliases information used for SMTP?

Resolving The Problem

Note: Starting with the V7R2 release, SMTP users may also be managed using WRKSMTPUSR

For prior releases and V7R2 SMTP configurations set to use the directory type *SDD in CHGSMTPA, The SMTP aliases are stored in a file called QATMSMTPA in library QUSRSYS, member SYSALIASES, unless the user ran the CVTNAMSMTP command. If that is the case, the aliases have been converted and stored in the QAOK* files.

With *SMTP directory type using WRKSMTPUSR at 720 and above they are stored in the IFS location '/QTCPTMM/CONFIG/USERS.DAT'
