Where are the core dump files generated when Netezza crashes ?

Question & Answer

Most Netezza crashes will generate a core dump, but depending on exactly what crashed, the file is written to a different directory. How can I easily find these core files ?

1. You need to be logged on as nz to have permission to search the directories:
su - nz

2. Core files generated by postgres crashes are under the data directory:
find -L /nz/data -iname 'core*' -exec ls -alh {} \;

3. Core files generated by dbos crashes are under the log directory:
find -L /nz/kit/log -iname 'core*' -exec ls -alh {} \;
