Resolving The Problem

What's the comments on having IB network connected to head node or IOnodes?

The choice of having Infiniband connected to the ionodes is really your choice.

1. Do you need to exploit the computation power of your ionodes, i.e.
do you want users' Infiniband jobs running in your front-end/ionodes. If want to do so with the ionodes, you need to allow users to be able to login into your ionodes.

2. Do you plan to use Infiniband's IPoIB to transfer data from ionodes to compute nodes. Remind you that, if you choose to do so, the bandwidth of Infiniband can be used for data transmittion and may cause parallel jobs' performance to fall because of the MPI traffics will then compete with data traffics.
