Problem
This document provides information about the SRVSPTPRX TCP server.
Resolving The Problem
The Service and Support Proxy is used only for Electronic Customer Support (ECS) and IBM Electronic Service Agent (ESA) Communications. It has the following features:
Note: To prevent TCP6405, the following parameter need to be set on Service Configuration (CRTSRVCFG or CHGSRVCFG)
Connectivity for others: CNNPNT
Connection point . . . . . . . *YES

If the Proxy Server is not being used it can be set to not start with the TCP servers using the instructions in Message TCP6405 Regarding *SRVSPTPRX Found in the QSYSOPR Message Queue document.

It automatically starts with TCP/IP by default. |
| o | It can also be started with the STRTCPSVR SERVER(*SRVSPTPRX) command. |
| o | It can be ended with the ENDTCPSVR SERVER(*SRVSPTPRX) command. |
| o | The job name is QTOCRUNPRX, and it runs with the QSRVAGT user profile. |
| o | Watch for TCP6405 error messages in the QSYSOPR message queue. The Reason code is an ECCMessage. Example The Service and Support Proxy (SRVSPTPRX) server failed with reason code 2029. You can also see the following within the message or within the eccTrace file: ConnLocalHttpProxyServicesNotEnabled |
