What Is the QLL PTF?

Troubleshooting

Problem

This document explains what the QLLXXXX PTF is and why the XXXX may be different from the primary language of the system.

Resolving The Problem

A user has a system with 2924 as a primary language; however, when the user was doing DSPPTF, he/she saw the QLL2950 permanently installed as follows:

 Product ID  . . . . . . . . . . . . . :   5722999
 IPL source  . . . . . . . . . . . . . :   ##MACH#B  ##SERV#T
 Release of base option  . . . . . . . :   V5R3M0 L00
 PTF                                 PTF           IPL        On        Cover
ID          Status                  Save File     Action     Order     Letter
....
QLL2950     Permanently applied     No            None       No        No
....

This PTF is not related to the language of the operating system, the QLLXXXX corresponds to the language specified at DST when the Licensed Internal Code was installed. This language only corresponds to the DST screens they see during the installation operation, it does not indicate what the primary language of the system is.

In this example, the customer selected 2950 during the Licensed Internal Code installation and then installed the operating system with 2924 as the primary language.
