Question

What is the Golden Shield Project and how does it affect access to the eluminate.js files on my website when its accessed within China?

Answer

The Golden Shield Project often referred to as the Great Firewall of China is a censorship and surveillance project operated by a division of the China Government. It is the China Governments firewall that began operations in November 2003.
The banning of websites is mostly uncoordinated and ad-hoc, with some web sites being blocked from one city and the same web sites being allowed from other cities and vice versa.

This does not affect our libraries which are located outside of China like the German or US library (eg https://libs.coremetrics.com/eluminate.js)

These can be accessed within China. We have run tests outside of our network, with test sites in China attempting to connect to libs.coremetrics.com

The response time is stable, however please note we have no control over the Chinese government firewall.
