What is FTP certificate cross-checking?

Question & Answer

Question

What is FTP certificate cross-checking?

Answer

When FTP is secured by TLS, by default FTP performs cross-checking to validate whether the certificates on the control connection and on the data connection are the same.

Use the TLSCERTCROSSCHECK statement in the FTP.DATA file to control whether FTP performs cross-checking of the certificates.

Coding TLSCERTCROSSCHECK TRUE enables the certificate cross-checking function. This is the default.

To disable the certificate cross-checking function, code TLSCERTCROSSCHECK FALSE.
