What is Drop Ship Order?
To understand the Drop Ship Order, take the following example.

ENT1 - Seller Enterprise, ENT2 - Seller & Buyer Enterprise.
Node1 - Belongs to ENT1 , Node2 - Belongs to ENT2
Item1 - Present in ENT1's inventory

ENT1 and ENT2 are two different legal entities. ENT2 wants to sell and ship Item1 to it's customer.

ENT2 directly ships the item1 from Node1, instead of procuring it to Node2 and then ship it . This is a 3PL scenario. Here the chained order is created between the two organizations (ENT1 and ENT2) . ENT2 purchase item1 from ENT1, but ship it from Node1. This transaction creates a
Purchase order and takes the sales order to Chained Order Created. One has to create this
chained order manually by using api. Purchase order is called Drop Ship order. Document type is 0005, Purchase Order.

How to create Drop Ship Order ?

Simulation Steps.

Configurator Settings

. Create 3 different legal entities, say ENT1, ENT2, ENT3. Hub is DEFAULT.
. ENT1 is seller, ENT2 is seller and buyer, ENT3 is buyer.
. A node, say Node1 belonging to ENT1.
. Check "Allow Chained Order Creation" in Related Entities tab of Fulfillment Process Type Details, for
Sales Order
. Create an item say item1.

Yantra Console

. Adjust the inventory for item1 at Node1.
. Create a sales order with Enterprise : DEFAULT (Hub), Seller :ENT2, Buyer: ENT3, Ship Node: Node1
(Belongs to ENT1).
. Schedule the order. This will take the order to Awaiting Chained Order Creation status.
. Run createChainedOrder API through Api Tester to create a Drop Ship Order.

Input XML : <Order DocumentType="005" EnterpriseCode="DEFAULT " OrderHeaderKey=" " OrderNo="" />
. Check the status of the Order in console. It must be "Chained Order Created"
. Check the order related to the sales order. This must be a purchase order. This PO is called as Drop Ship Order.
